Nickel Institute appoints Philip Song as Manager Nickel Institute, China
Dr. Philip (Quanming) Song has been appointed as Manager Nickel Institute, China. Philip will be responsible for Market Development and Health & Environment Public Policy in China, and will be Head of the Nickel Institute’s Beijing office. He succeeds Licheng Zhang who is retiring.
Philip joins Nickel Institute from Carpenter Technology, where he was Technical Manager/Metallurgist, Asia. His previous positions include General Manager at Shanghai Weldstone and China Manager at Bohler Welding Austria.
Philip is a Chinese national and has a PhD in Materials Science from the China Iron and Steel Research Institute; MSc Materials Science and Engineering, Xi’an Jiantong University; BSc Physics, Beijing University of Science & Technology; BSc in Computer Science, University of Windsor, Canada and has studied in Germany and Czech Republic.
Philip is based in Nickel Institute’s Beijing office. Richard Matheson, General Manager – Asia, Nickel Institute said, “we are delighted to have Philip on board to further advance the Nickel Institute’s mission to promote and support the use of nickel in appropriate applications in China.”
